  The author and publisher, Larry Hayes,
lives in Carmel Valley, California.  He is the father of seven who has always loved to read to his children, who gave him the inspiration to some day write a book for each of them.  The concept to focus on the first letters of their names was born in 1998, after the birth of his twins, Gabriel and Nathanael.  Since then Larry has been in the process of writing, photographing, and designing this series of books, culminating in the publication of My Name Starts With A in 2003.

Larry is a judge with the Superior Court of California in Monterey County, and a former attorney with the law firm of Fenton & Keller, where in 1980 he commenced practicing law upon his graduation from Santa Clara University Law School.  He had been a deputy sheriff in Ventura County for nearly 10 years before attending law school.  He is self-publishing the books under the business name, Inspire Publications.  Larry resides in Carmel Valley with his wife, and his three youngest children, Devon and the twins.
